Even though we have a house in Chiang Mai, my wife and I have stayed - in staycation - so many times at the Novotel that we can now consider it "our second home in Chiang Mai". The main reasons for this repeated choice are: the particular kindness and helpfulness of all the staff, the welcoming atmosphere of the rooms and the internal courtyard, the rich and varied breakfast, the quality of the food in the restaurant Food Exchange (the chef, Thai, who also had an experience in Italy - at a prestigious "Michelin starred" restaurant -, was able to create a delicious international menu). One of the reasons to return on weekends is also the unmissable Friday Buffet (with fish, seafood, oysters, sushi, sashimi and more: including a variety of cold cuts and cheeses and, sometimes, an excellent Italian "porchetta") - which (especially with the "free for seniors and kids" promotion) has become a regular event for Chiang Mai residents. And, of course, the good price/quality ratio. Obviously, there is still room for improving the comfort of the rooms, common areas and swimming pool. I would like to suggest: - adding a table lamp and another chair (with backrest!) to the rooms, and offering, on request, a folding stand for suitcases. - using the existing awning (for the rain?) of the courtyard tables to enjoy an outdoor breakfast even when the sun shines. - creating a lounge open to guests (e.g. in a room adjacent to the courtyard). - creating areas shade in the sun lounger area (e.g. with a pergola structure), plant some greenery in the pots around the pool and on the roof behind it, install a handrail along the stairs, etc.). Finally, it would be very much appreciated by all guests if the free coffee/tea area in the lobby will be restored. I would like to express a special thanks to G.M. 여러모로 좋은 숙박이었습니다. 위치도 님만해민 중심가와 가까워서 편리했으며 공항과 매우 가까워요. 특히 여행 마지막 날 같이 여행중이던 가족이 아팠는데, 호텔 측에서 부축도 도와주시고, 체크아웃이 조금 늦어졌는데 양해해주셨을 뿐만 아니라 필요한 게 있으면 언제든지 말씀해달라고 해주셨습니다. 여러모로 편의를 봐주신 덕분에 가족이 잘 회복할 수 있었고 여행을 잘 마무리 할 수 있었습니다. 호텔측에 진심으로 감사드립니다. 조식은 먹지 않아서 모르겠지만 식당이 중정에 있어서 분위기가 좋아 보였어요. 바에서 마실 수 있는 웰컴 드링크는 타 노보텔에 비해 종류가 많고 퀄리티가 좋았습니다. 님만해민 지역 특성상 비행기 소음이 있으며, 기존 리뷰를 통해 방과 방, 방과 복도 사이 방음이 잘 되지 않는다는 것을 알고 예약했습니다. 해당 사실을 감안했을때 소음에 예민하지 않은 저로서는 수면에 지장은 없었습니다. 침구가 편해서 더 그랬을수도 있어요! 투숙객들도 조용하게 생활했던 것 같고요. 엄청 예민하신 분들은 조용한 지역의 숙박을 권유드립니다.

위치가 좋고, 시설이 깔끔합니다. 다만, 방음이 잘 되지 않아 옆방의 샤워 소리나 목소리가 들립니다.

Novotel Chiang Mai Nimman Journeyhub: A Northern Thailand Escape My recent trip to Chiang Mai was another frequent visit, this time to see the "Thai Sakura" blossoms at Khun Chang Kian. The cool, crisp air of the high season added to the delightful experience. The hotel's location, near the Rin Kham Intersection (MAYA Intersection), was perfect. I used a travel voucher for a Deluxe room, which cost 2,500 THB per night (Friday and Saturday stay, no extra charge). I opted to pay an additional 500 THB for a confirmed upgrade to a corner Executive room (room 231). As a Platinum member, I received all the expected benefits. The Welcome Drinks menu had expanded since my last visit, offering a wider variety of options. These could be redeemed at the bar on the B floor, near the FOOD EXCHANGE restaurant – a great open-air spot for relaxing and enjoying the cool breeze. Breakfast was complimentary for Platinum members (even without a breakfast-inclusive booking). However, my travel voucher already included breakfast for two, available from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. The selection was extensive, with rotating menus and beautifully presented dishes – perfect for Instagram enthusiasts. A Welcome Set included crispy snacks made from bananas and sweet potatoes, along with a bottle of wine. (The wine was a compensation for the delayed room access; I had requested a 12:30 PM check-in but didn't get the room until 3:35 PM.) This prompted me to explore ONE NIMMAN and MAYA while waiting. The fitness center and swimming pool were on the smaller side but offered great photo opportunities with excellent lighting. During this visit, the weather was pleasantly cool, around 10-16 degrees Celsius. The hotel was moderately busy, even during the high season, with 100% occupancy. However, it never felt crowded or that guests were competing for amenities. NOVOTEL Chiang Mai is a great option – reasonably priced and perfect for unwinding and enjoying the beautiful atmosphere and weather. I hope this review serves as a helpful option for those considering accommodations in Chiang Mai.
