800amyw Couples - TripAdvisor review

We returned to the hotel after nearly 7 years and were so disappointed to see not much had changed. The rooms are tired and the facilities in general need a spruce up. The restaurant menus are average and booked well in advance despite the reviews being sub par. The room service menu was the smallest I have ever seen and it was like the hotel has too many guests for its facilities and staff levels. As an Accor member, this wasn’t acknowledged at check in and nor was my bday. Most hotels recognise your DOB on check in and at least acknowledge it. The gym is small and the hallways loud. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway I wouldn’t recommend it, but if you’re a family with tiny kids I can see why you would like it. The parking here has always been a bit tricky with an uphill trek to reception but I am still baffled that there is no undercover walkway for guests after all these years.

A nice resort but overpriced

We wouldn’t have stayed here for the price if we didn’t have a voucher to pay for half of it. The rooms aren’t worth the price. Dinner and breakfast were nice but I’d be expecting a luxe room with a fireplace at this price.

My wife and had son had a serious fall on our last night. The fall was due to a putt hole in the foot path. We were taken care of very well by the front desk staff. I issued an email to management re the matter. There was no follow up that night to see how they were. Complained to assistant manager the next morning and she made notes. To this very day, we have not had a response from anyone nor a follow up. My wife knee still hurts and is getting looked at. My son’s head, luckily, has recovered.

We had a great experience at the Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains. The hotel and surrounds are well maintained and there is lots to explore both inside the resort and in the vicinity. Unfortunately we had to cut our trip short and checkout early due to illness; the hotel was very understanding about the situation and solved the hiccup this created. We will definitely come back to enjoy the resort fully.

The Fairmont was a great place to stay in the Blue Mountains. The room was spacious and well equipped. The hotel offered plenty of dining options. The weather was a little disappointing but it didn’t affect our enjoyment of our stay.
