Beautiful hotel, perfect for a girls weekend

We were celebrating my friends 40th birthday. We spent Saturday afternoon shopping in the centre, then came over to the hotel and had a pre dinner drink upstairs in the bar - this was lovely and we were well looked after. Had a quick look at the pool area which was very small and full of kids so we decided against a swim. Then out for dinner, again in the shopping centre. Unfortunately we had to leave early the next morning so just had a quick coffe in the restaurant before leaving. We opted for self parking.

The check in process was disappointing- we had arranged an early check in, so were told they would notify us when our room was ready. When it was past the normal check in time, we went back to the reception to enquire and the queue was 20 people deep waiting to be checked in, with only 2 staff on the front desk. The reception staff did not appear interested at all in customer service. We also found calling the hotel the day before check in frustrating, as it took 4 phone calls to get through to reservations, as despite selecting reservations other departments answered and said they could not transfer the call so I would need to call again. I assume because the hotel has good occupancy that they don’t feel customer service is needed. When we checked out the only person available to take our keys was the concierge who said that would process the bill and send a receipt, which I have still not received. The room itself was well appointed and spotlessly clean.

My daughter and I usually enjoy our stay at Chadstone hotel. We normally book staycations for our birthdays and such so we booked it on my daughter’s birthday, feeling that the staff usually made it special. I know it’s not mandatory but usually, there’s a little treat and card when we arrive so my daughter expected it but there was nothing this time. I know it’s just perks but it did dampen my daughter’s mood.

I sincerely regret that we missed the opportunity to surprise Quinn with a special amenity for her birthday, and I truly apologize for this oversight.
