I was disappointed that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. I was also not offered the choice to have a non-smoking room when I booked and as a result upon arrival the room smelt so strongly of tobacco that I did feel the need to check for a still burning cigarette! We stayed for 2 nights and our second morning, after returning to the room from breakfast it was the first time we weren't hit by the smell of cigarettes upon entering. The housekeeping staff did a brilliant job. The front-of-house staff were excellent and the food was good in the restaurant - steak and chips, fish, duck, pasta- although a little lacking in vegetables or salad. In stark contrast the breakfast was magnificent with fresh fruit, gluten-free bread, cakes and cereal, soya milk as well as the usual things and a wonderful selection of teas.
