Really enjoyed my stay at Ibis Bahnhof Basel

A two-night solo trip for a leisure break in Basel. I chose the Ibis Bahnhof as it is super well-located on the quieter, south side of the train station, with tram stops for lines 2 and 16 right outside the door. This is an older-style Ibis (it still has the poppy logo carpet!) but it is very clean and very welcoming. The lady with glasses who was on reception every day I was there from 06:00 was really lovely - and a credit to Ibis, speaking French, German and English. I had a room on the back overlooking the courtyard. There are building works further along the block going on at the moment and they were working on Saturday morning, but you can't hear it with the window shut. The room was classic Ibis style. Very clean, comfy bed and UK TV channels - what else do you need! I slept really well. I made good use of the Basel Card using the trams a lot and 50% things like museum entry. A top tip - the Tinguely Museum opens late on Thursday evenings (18:00-21:00) and is free entry. It's really good! Would I stay again? Yes!
