We stayed at this Hotel for one night with parking for 8 days, we found the reception staff very efficient and friendly, our room was spacious and quiet, bed very comfortable with lovely pillows, constant hot water in the shower and the Air con was sufficient. We ate at the Asia Restaurant and the food was excellent, and the service was very good We did have an issue with parking at the hotel and found the signage confusing, we ended up parking at the overspill car park and had to move it to the meet and greet car park, on arriving home we were issued a parking fine, but once we informed the Manager at the Sofitel which was a Sunday he responded immediately and on Monday it was duly cancelled, THANK YOU TO SOFITEL MANAGER. We will definitely return when flying from gatwick.

Not a typical Sofitel

So this hotel isn’t a typical luxury Sofitel. It’s pretty bare bones. Rooms are super small and kind of dingy, and we were facing the interior courtyard. Room could use updating. We had to vacate our first assigned room because when my husband went to take a shower, the shower didn’t drain at all and completely flooded the bathroom. It took a couple of hours with the front desk not responding back despite several phone calls until we finally got moved to a different room. However, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom products were great. Ok for a one night stopover.

We had a runway view room,it was perfect, we thought would be noisy but not at all, very well sound proofed. In the morning 2 minute walk up the slope and you are in the terminal!

Our server Alexandra has been first class. Extremely attentive and friendly. We came with our son and were made to feel extremely welcome. We sat at the window, enjoying the planes landing and taking off and enjoyed snacks including cured meats, crudités and mac and cheese bites.
