Good for an overnight stay in between flights

Clean room and bedding. Small tea and coffee making. Laundry services. Vending machines with soft drink and chips. The grab and go bar was just a few protein shakes. My room had 2 comfy queen beds in it. It would be very tight to have more than 2 people per room. Good TV with hdmi and usb port access. Tiny bathroom with good shower and hand basin in the end of the shower. The bathroom is the size of a corner cupboard. Next door to Krispy Kreme, KFC and 24/7 McDonald's. Meals are offered at the Mantra hotel next door. Stressful checkout. No one at reception for 10 minutes to buy ticket for shuttle. Would have been better to be able to buy a shuttle ticket at check in. No bell at the desk so I tried to call them and it just goes round in a message circle. As mentioned on other reviews even email communication is poor. Shuttle ticket was $12

This was my first time staying at an Ibis Budget, so I'm not sure if some of my concerns stemmed from mismatched expectations, but overall, I didn't find the experience enjoyable and wouldn't return. The stay started off with difficulty finding parking. The hotel only had around a dozen parking spaces, and when I arrived, they were all taken. I was informed at the front desk that parking was on a first-come, first-served basis, and I could park at the nearby Krispy Kreme if no spaces were available on-site. The interior of the building was fairly worn, and the lifts were particularly disappointing, with several buttons not functioning properly. The room itself was the most basic I've encountered. The W. were plain white with noticeable wear and tear, and the lack of any meaningful decoration made it feel more like a prison cell than a hotel room. While the bed was comfortable enough, and there were charging outlets available, the TV was very small, and the bathroom was extremely cramped. The shower curtains were hooked in such a way that they didn't move smoothly, making for an awkward experience. Overall, it suffices for an overnight stay and will work if you need something basic close to the airport, but it is very underwhelming.

A Reasonably Priced Hotel for a Night Near the Airport

Booked this last minute for a one night layover when I had to depart Brisbane unexpectedly due to Cyclone Alfred. I am rating this four stars because I got exactly what I expected and paid for. A cheap, comfortable room, located a 10-15 minute walk from SYD domestic terminals 2 and 3. As folks note the place shows some wear and tear in elevators, wall paint, and the like but the room was clean as was the bathroom. Some folks complained about AC noise but mine was quiet in fact quieter than the 5 start hotels I stayed at the night before and night after. The hotel next door has a restaurant and there is a McDonalds immediately behind the hotel. My one minor nit for some is it is next the airport, a busy road and next to an industrial area thus there are some outside noises in the room (it is certainly less sound proofed than some other (more expensive) airport hotels I have stayed at but I carry ear plugs and used those and had a very solid night's sleep).
