Brought my two daughters on single mum trip Shane Smith was the best to talk to about anything in hotel. Only downfall was my request for extra pillows and blankets for arrival for my additional needs daughter wasn't met, black stuff was coming up sink and the smell from shower put us off using it. Also we had a roasting hot room as air con wasn't working at all for us. Found alot of hair under my pillow when lifted it up before sleeping.

Reception staff were all lovely and friendly. Ground floor accessiblity room was a godsend with my medical and mobility issues. Room was clean, shower was lovely and hot and powerful which I like. Only issue/suggestion i have is, please could someone check the thermostat for the air con in room 18? i don't believe that's truly 22C in there. I got very cold in the middle of the night, and although I tried to adjust it, i felt that didn't improve the issue.

When I booked I was fully aware this was a budget hotel, but I was only in Birmingham for 1 night so this was not a problem. What I hadn't accounted for was the number of hen and stag parties. I arrived at 3pm, and by 3.15 there was a hen party on my floor screaming and banging on doors. I needed a good night's sleep, and this was obviously not going to happen, so I decided to book another hotel for the night. As I came downstairs to check out, another stag party (in dresses!) was checking in. At that point I realised the decision to move hotels was the right one....

Very convenient.
