Great location, clean and tidy hotel, and the bed is comfortable. The Nespresso machine is perfect, and it’s great that they provide 2 extra capsules every day. However, for a hotel of this category, a smart TV and toiletries like room slippers are essential – that’s why it didn’t get a 10.

First I would like to emphasize that I've been a guest in various Mercure hotel all over the world, and I generally like hotels from this chain. That being said, this stay was not the best, as we had issues with the a/c the whole stay it didn't cool one bit, but the whole floor had the same problem as I was informed. The room was not clean, there was a big wine stain on the table, there were no tissues in the bathroom also no shower gel in the dispenser. The breakfast was great although I didn't see any bacon anywhere. I would especially like to commend the check in staff, super friendly and professional. Hope to see improvements next time.

This was a return visit for our family (3 adults). We usually stay in the Ibis part, but were upgraded to the Mercure this time, which meant the rooms were higher up and had extras like tea and coffee and a fridge with complimentary soft drinks. The rooms on both sides have great views, particularly those overlooking the park and castle hill. As ever, the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast selection really good.

Inexperienced staff, extreme slow service and the whole hotel feels like a youth hostel. I found sand on the spinach in my food, it was clearly unwashed, the staff never replaced the meal. I got a decent diarrhea (and trust me the only place i ate was in the hotel where spent straight 72h hours on a training. There was a fire alert but noone was cooredinateing the guests, not fire marshall, no instructions. People didnt even leave the building, just sitting in the lobby and no staff warned them; some people casually walked into the bulding with fire. Thankfully there wasnt fire otherwise would have been a disaster. And last the hotel was unable to secure the meetingrooms we booked and paid for, so it was given to another company people with hour stuff inside! Very unprofessional hotel btw at a not nice part of Budapest.
