Two iconic buildings in The Hague are the Paleis Noordeinde and Het Vredespaleis. Paleis Noordeinde is the King's place of work and is not open to the public. The two main churches in the city are the gothic Grote Kerk dating back to the 15th century and the Nieuwe Kerk, built in the 17th century when the Grote Kerk became too small. The Nieuwe Kerk was built in the Dutch classical-baroque style.
