Had lunch at The Savoy Grill for our 31st anniversary. Drinks in The American Bar first where the service from Thomas was excellent. Through to The Grill for lunch. Service was friendly, efficient and really a delight to see in a time when good service is not the norm. Thierry Tomasin the restaurant director came over to welcome us which was lovely. We had smoked salmon, steak tartare, beef wellington, a pear dessert and cheese. The bubbly was excellent in The Grill and my husband assures me the red wine was pretty special. This is how you do good service and we will be staying for a couple of nights for our 35th purely based on the excellent experience we had.

We had a delightful Afternoon Tea at The Savoy. Our excellent servers, Cloë and Timothy, walked us through the process and it was a very relaxing and elegant way to spend our last full-day in London. Afterwards, the hotel concierge (Zibi) was so kind and helpful trying to get us checked in to our British Airways flight for the next day. Unfortunately, the British Airways website was nowhere near as kind and accommodating as Zibi was. But make it on our plane we did and we got home safe and sound!

Lovely stay, but a few niggles

Had a smashing time at The Savoy overall! The location is unbeatable, right by the Thames, and the staff were top-notch—polite and ever so helpful. The room was lush, with a proper comfy bed and those little luxurious touches you’d expect. That said, a few bits let it down slightly. The Wi-Fi was a bit hit-and-miss, and for the price, you’d hope it’d be flawless. Also, while breakfast was delicious, the queue at times was a tad frustrating. Still, it’s The Savoy—you’re paying for the glamour and history, and it delivers on that front. Would definitely pop back, but maybe when it’s a touch less busy!

I chose The Savoy to treat my friends to an afternoon tea as part of my 60th birthday celebrations and it certainly delivered. We were looked after extremely well, the food was delicious and we all found the experience entertaining and fun. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion.

Visited the new Gallery at the Savoy hotel today and had a wonderful time. We’re looked after by Giampaolo, Chloe and the very professional Archie! The team took care of us and gave us a fantastic experience. One of the best relaxed lounges in London!
