Loved by theatregoers and the world’s most famous production houses
Did you know the Alhambra is also home to Yorkshire’s biggest panto? There’s something for everyone all year-round, but that’s not the only reason to plan a visit
The Alhambra is steeped in history. This is a theatre that has seen it all and lived – for more than a hundred years – to tell the tale. From the golden era of variety performances to an ongoing list of revered playwrights, to go there is to be a part of its captivating heritage.
Dining out near the Alhambra Theatre
The Alhambra, named after Granada’s Alhambra palace, is surrounded by some of Bradford’s best restaurants. The theatre itself boasts one of those in Restaurant 1914, which opens for evening shows and matinees. If you’re feeling adventurous, however, explore the area surrounding Morley Street.
Here you’ll find a melting pot of cuisines, including a Middle Eastern and Syrian menu from Bab Tooma. Or, venture to the other side of Asia to My Thai for green curry and casual drinks.
If you’re looking for something more familiar, the Alhambra Theatre is just a stone’s throw from Nando’s, Zizi and several other famed high street chains. With dinner booked, all that’s left to do is to choose from one of several great hotels near Bradford Alhambra.
