2. Ashton Court Estate
Next up on our list and just ten minutes outside the city centre is the stunning Ashton Court Estate. A Grade I listed mansion situated on an 850-acre estate of grass and woodlands, this beautiful historic park is well worth a visit on a weekend break in Bristol.
The mansion itself is open from Wednesday to Sunday, though the extensive parklands are an ideal space for the kids to run around and explore every day from 8am. As well as being a picturesque spot for a memorable picnic, the estate is home to roaming deer, mountain biking trails, a golf course and even a mini railway! Once you’ve explored the grounds, stop by one of two cafes to rest your legs and enjoy a delicious bite to eat.
