The White Hart Hotel is set in an elegant Grade II listed building, close to Salisbury Cathedral. Centrally located in the old town, our historic 4-star Salisbury hotel dates back to the 1600s, blending original Georgian character with modern comfort and amenities. With 80 rooms, including 12 new apartments, our hotel makes an ideal base for visiting Stonehenge, the New Forest and Wiltshire. We're located in Salisbury's historic centre, just opposite the cathedral. We chose this hotel for 2 nights to celebrate my husband's birthday. Unfortunately he felt unwell as we arrived, but the lovely Emma on Reception found us a room we could check into an hour early. We had Privilege Room 110. Very clean, quite large - huge walk-in shower (obviously the room is normally reserved for entire rugby teams), a Nespresso coffee machine and a little fridge with some complimentary drinks. The bed was roomy with a comfortable mattress, but the pillows were a bit firm (nit-picking here). Traffic noise would be annoying if perfect quiet were required, but it lowered considerably with the windows shut, and the traffic almost disappeared around 10pm till morning. We had a meal one night and the Korean chicken was delicious. However, the slow roasted chicken (poussin?) leg was not very tender and very small. Inez tried so hard to make it right for us, though. In fact the staff were all very smiley and helpful. The little courtyard at the back is quiet, sheltered and delightful. The breakfast room needs bringing up to the decorative standard of the other public areas, but it wasn't too shabby, and the breakfast was brilliant - everything we could want, both sweet and savoury. Coffees of all types from a machine, consistent and good. We are very keen to return later in the year - oh, and by the way there's a fab Chinese restaurant along the same road!
