The room was clean and nicely appointed. However, the design of the room made it so that all night long, any time we moved in the bed, a blindingly bright light next to the door/bathroom would come on for about 15-20 seconds. (Not restful). Next, while it was a Wednesday night and there seemed to be few people staying in the hotel, we were assigned a room next to a person whose TV was mounted on the wall next to our bed headboards and who was engaged in a long, loud zoom meeting with someone. We could hear the whole long conversation like it was in our room (at 10pm-11pm). When the zoom was over, it was "TV" time so we fell asleep to the droning of the nightly news (not pleasant). Then we were told the breakfast buffet ended at 9:30am. So we went down at 8:50am - we were told we have 40 minutes to dine (okay). Sadly, most of the dishes on the buffet were already empty and they were never re-filled. Those that had any food left in them looked unpleasant as people had stabbed their way through the plates tossing the foods in all directions. The meal was the biggest disappointment. If you need to be at the buffet at 6:30am to enjoy it, just say that at check-in I guess. Staff was great, dining hall was nice, etc., just mostly empty food dishes looks sad an unappetizing. So this is our first and last time at the Ibis in Suwon. We will return to the Novotel when staying in Suwon in the future. I guess the $75 price difference is no bargain after a night of interrupted sleep and sad buffet experience.
