The room was definitely in need of refurbishment. The lobby bar was a lovely place for a drink, we enjoyed all the greenery and the water feature. Staff were helpful.

I absolutely loved the foyer with all the plants and would potentially stay again for that feature alone. Hard to comment on rooms as I know hotel is being refurbished, but I hated how the shower was set up (room 115) the entire floor ended up wet and it took some time to dry, I had to use towels so I didn't get wet feet using the toilet. It's 2025 and there wasn't a single USB charger in the room, which is crazy, and the buffet breakfast was pretty miserable. Beds were comfortable, room was clean enough (ink staing on the carpet). Was satisfactory for 2 nights.

I enjoyed my stay at the Novatel. Room and service was good. My only down point was breakfast. I only had breakfast once and I must say it was disappointing. For a cheaper price I had a better breakfast elsewhere. The coffee machine wasn't working which caused some confusion and the staff were reluctant to use the Barrister Coffee machine to serve coffee. If it wasn't for the breakfast it would have been rated 10 out of 10

Because work arranged this accommodation as our teaching venue I can definitely recommend in future as about renovations that may be happening at the same time. There were times that we couldn’t heat the people talking and they couldn’t hear us teaching. Their food delivered over the courses ie morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea could really do with an upgrade. Sandwiches and wraps for lunch were very poor. The cakes muffins were very dry. The hot water for the tea tasted like coffee. There was some improvement with sandwiches and wraps but not a great deal. Would definitely had preferred a hot lunch ie Curry and rice, Spaghetti Fettuccine and this was what we had on a course before these courses at the Oaks Elan.

Staff are lovely, restaurant & bar service & quality good, love the location and the garden interior. The rooms are clean but suffer from damp. My room513 had a bucket out the front to collect drips from the ceiling. My room smelt of damp and there was signs of it in the walls around the window. Please provide complimentary bottled water or at least a plastic water jug for filling and putting in the mini bar fridge.
